Looking for a way to meet new people, try something new or have some fun on campus? Chattanooga State has plenty of opportunities for students to get involved this fall, whether you are interested in sports, arts, academics, student leadership or simply meeting new friends.
For students who enjoy staying active, Intramural Coordinator Mason Hughes has introduced several opportunities to get out and play. Pickleball is available from noon to 3 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at the pickleball courts. No experience is required. Just show up!
Hughes has also started a flag football league that meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Whether you have lots of experience or have never touched a football, everyone is welcome to join.
“Anyone and everyone is welcome, regardless of experience or ability,” Hughes said. “All you have to do is show up and play.”
For students who enjoy being outdoors, staying active and spending time with friends, these activities offer an easy way to get involved and meet others on campus.
Sports are not the only way to get involved at Chattanooga State. Students can also choose from a variety of clubs and organizations listed through the Student Experience Office on the Chattanooga State website. Groups include the Art Club, Chattanooga State Astronomical Group, Cheerleading, Psychology Club, Student Government Association and many more.
With so many options available, there is a place for everyone. If you still cannot find something that catches your eye, you can even start your own club. Who knows? You might create something that leaves a lasting legacy at Chattanooga State.
Getting involved on campus does not have to be complicated or intimidating. Sometimes, all it takes is showing up and trying something new. This fall, Chattanooga State students have plenty of opportunities to do just that.
